Mrs. Argentina Teodora NERTAN has graduate the Polytechnics University of Bucharest, Faculty of Energetics, Department of Hydroenergetics and Environment Engineering. Master of Science degree in Management of Natural Resources and Economics of the Environment, 1997, Polytechnics University of Bucharest, UNESCO Department

Mrs. Argentina Nertan is researcher from Remote Sensing and GIS Laboratory. She is Project Manager from NAM Partner.
The main research themes in his scientific activity are:

  • Image data processing and interpretation for the thematic classification;
  • Determination of "in situ" spectral signatures of natural objects and correlation with the data obtained from the remote sensing data
  • Introduction of the remote sensing techniques in the investigation and evaluation of the agricultural crops;
  • Assessment and surveying the water resources by remote sensing;
  • Integration of remote sensing data in Geographical Informational Systems (GIS) dedicated for: morpho-hydrografical changes due to anthropogenic factors, environmental monitoring;
  • Developing of graphical interfaces, developing of application software for access, manipulation and display of earth science data, developing of application software for agro-meteorological database processing.

She attended as expert and technical manager to an important number of national and international projects:

  • MODVEGET - "Vegetation Reflectance Modelling for the Biophysical Parameters, Valuation from Remote Sensing data", (2003-2005);
  • RISAFLAPOR - "Integrated management system for preharvest aflatoxines corn contamination risk", (2005-2008);
  • LIFE 03 ENV /RO/000539 DIMINISH - "Development of an Integrated Basin Management System in order to correlate water quantity and quality analysis with socio-economical analysis, using Open-GIS technology", (2006);
  • LIFE05 ENV/RO/000106 AIR-AWARE - "AIR Pollution ImpAct Surveillance and WArning System for URban Environment - AIR-AWARE", (2007-2010);
  • RISCASAT - "Development of new satellite-derived products adapted to users requirements for hydro-meteorological risk management", (2006-2010);

Mr. Vasile Craciunescu

Mr. Vasile CRACIUNESCU received a diploma in cartography and physical geography in 2001.
Currently he is in charge of the scientific and operational activities in Meteo Romania related to rapid mapping, air quality data integration, spatial data infrastructure and web mapping.

    Mr. Denis MIHAILESCU has graduate Faculty of Geography from Bucharest, specialisation cartography. He worked for "Emil Racovita" Institute of Speleology of Romanian Academy and after that in cadastral sector. Since 2008 he works in the Remote Sensing and GIS department from Meteo Romania.

    Mr. Mihailescu has participate to national and international projects like:
